How to get here

St. Stephen’s Cathedral is located in the centre of Vienna and can be easily reached by public transport.

Arriving on public transport (Stephansplatz station)

Underground: U1, U3

Bus: 1A, 3A

from the airport: CAT (City Airport Train) to ‘Wien Mitte’ station, then take the U3 to ‘Stephansplatz’ station

from the Westbahnhof: take the U3 to ‘Stephansplatz’ station

from Vienna’s main station (Hauptbahnhof): take the U1 to ‘Stephansplatz’ station

Arriving by car

We recommend leaving your car at a Park and Ride garage as parking in the city centre can be difficult.

from the west stay on the motorway A1 until you reach ‘P+R Hütteldorf’, then take the U4 to ‘Karlsplatz’ station, then continue with U1 to ‘Stephansplatz’ station

from the south take the motorway A2 and then A23 until you reach ‘P+R Erdberg’, then take the U3 to ‘Stephansplatz’ station. Alternatively, take the motorways A2 and A21 to until you reach ‘P+R Siebenhirten’, then take the U6 to ‘Westbahnhof’ station where you change to take the U3 to ‘Stephansplatz’ station.

from the east stay on the motorway A4 until you reach ‘P+R Erdberg’, then take the U3 to ‘Stephansplatz’ station

Arriving by coach

Coaches can park at Schwedenplatz (Franz Josefs Kai), by the Parliament (Schmerlingplatz), and by the city hall (Rathausplatz)
